Siloxane resin based photocatalytic coating for exteriors

Developments in nanotechnology mean that it is now possible to exploit the properties of nanometric anatase titanium dioxide, which is activated by the UV component of sunlight, to promote redox reactions on both organic and inorganic pollutant molecules found in the atmosphere as a result of emissions from vehicle traffic, heating, industry, etc. These reactions modify the chemical structure of the molecules and reduce their toxicological properties. As a result, as well as having the properties of a siloxane resin based product, Solarya 65 also has self-cleaning and anti-pollution properties, because it is able to transform particles of dirt and pollution, like nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, etc., into residues that are easily washed away by rainwater. It also acts as an impediment to the growth of microorganisms, including algae, fungi, moulds and bacteria. Environmentally friendly, as well as its normal protective and decorative functions, it also has self-cleaning and, most importantly, anti-pollution properties.
